IAS HANDLING SL (International Airports Service) is becoming more and more established in Spain with all the airport services it provides and its growth is exponential year after year.
In order to continue providing the service and quality that distinguishes it, IAS has carried out a total digital transformation of all its systems and communications and has relied on a reference engineering company in Spain in systems and communications such as Aryse Global Services.
All solutions in the systems and communications department, such as management, control and production, are based on cloud solutions.
Ricardo Bagen Executive Director in Spain says:
“It has been a challenge to be able to carry out implementations that are totally different to those installed in companies in the sector. As it is an innovative proposal, it has been a very strong challenge, in which sometimes there has been a certain vertigo. Several test models were made, discarding the most unstable ones. Success was almost guaranteed, but it is true that a little nervousness remains when it is time to disconnect the current systems”.
All the solutions involved in the company’s production are in the cloud:
- Applications Systems.
- IP Telephony.
- Virtual data center and storage.
- Communications, (network electronics, Wireless, etc.) with management and control through command control.
- Cybersecurity with perimeter protection thanks to the solutions of a leading global manufacturer coordinated with the protection of the final user and integrated with the same manufacturer.
“All the systems were in layout, tested and retested and went into production in less than 48 hours. Now, seen in perspective the change seems easy, but if there had been any setback, the disruption would have caused a lack of service to our customers, none of whom have been aware of this change,” says Jaume Planas, Warehouse Manager.
On a financial level, Beatriz Meléndez, Station Manager at IAS says:
“The advantages of implementing these solutions are endless, the CAPEX is not affected as well as the funding lines. You can grow in infrastructure as the business grows, it is not necessary to make an initial investment to provide a series of services to customers who are still to come”.
One of the keys to the success of this project has been the creation of a single team between IAS HANDLING and ARYSE GLOBAL SERVICES, not to maintain a client-supplier relationship, but to create a link of involvement between all parties so that the project could be carried out.
The project is currently moving forward with the integration of airport applications, the development of informative applications for the traceability of goods, the extension of base stations in other cities, etc.
